Sitting Position Basic. The correct adjustment of your sitting position on the bike is the basis for an optimal force transmission and avoids trouble caused by the wrong sitting position. The sitting position is determined at the saddle, the handle bars and the pedals as the points of contact between body and bike. The most important value is the saddle height, defined as distance from saddle to bottom bracket and the saddle position, defined as the distance between the vertical line of the saddle and the bottom bracket. These values define the operating angle of the knee joint and in which length the thigh muscles work. The position of the upper body and the hip angle result from the distance between saddle and handlebars and from the handlebar height in relation to the saddle height.
The static position analysis technique in the Radlabor is based on the background of the human body. Due to an accurate measurement of body and bike and the self-developed ‘professional-formula’ it is possible to find and adjust the ideal basic position for each athlete and recreational cyclist. Both cyclist and bike are measured with millimeter accuracy. The body measurements are used to calculate the individual position. The ideal cycling position and the differences to the previous position can be seen on an analysis sheet, are discussed individually and, where applicable, directly adjusted on your bike.
