VO2max-Test. The ability of the body’s muscles to absorb, transport and metabolise oxygen is the key for success in cycling performance. The results of the VO2max test provide a detailed picture of your current cycling performance and show the dimension of your development potential.
The VO2max-test measures the maximal oxygen uptake on the basis of a ramp protocol work-load. The separate graduations in this test are smaller than the standard lactate test graduation, however the intervals are shorter and the time until maximal exhaustion averages between 4-12 minutes. By wearing a respiratory mask (Spirometer) the amount and constituents (O2, CO2) of inspired and expired air are analysed during the test period.
