Inspired by Mountainbiking, Björn Stapelfeldt moved from his hometown of Ratzenburg in Schleswig-Holstein (Germany) to Freiburg to study and complete a PhD in sport science.
His extensive experience working with elite cyclists comes in part, from his work as the head of the Radlabor at the Institute for Sport and Sport Science of the University Freiburg, as well as working at the nearby Olympic base in Freiburg-Schwarzwald. His numerous publications and new developments reflect his extensive experience, practical and scientific work involving all aspects of cycling. He naturally became the manager of the newly established Radlabor, when it was founded in 2007. With his motivating character and extensive knowledge base he is a strong leader of the Radlabor Team.
